The result was the decisive Allied victory Start of Hundred Days Offensive. By the termination of the first phase on August 11, Allies losses numbered 22,200 killed , wounded and missing. The German losses were staggering 74,000 killed, wounded and captured. They were able to secure supplies, capture over 10,000 prisoners, and it ended trench warfare on the western front. The outcome was that it pushed the Germans out of France forcing them to retreat as a result it helped to bring an end to World War One. August 8, 1918 German morale depleted “the blackest day of the Germany Army in the history of the war.” The Battle of Amiens was a major turning point in the tempo of the war.
